Hi, I’m Pavel — a software engineer with a classical music childhood and an apparently “mid-life” obsession with grooveboxes.

I studied violin, piano, solfège, and composition as a kid. Then programming took over, and music slowly faded into the background. But a while back, I started tinkering again — and it stuck.

I still remember messing around with my dad’s Casio VL–1, dialing some random ADSR code in — and suddenly, something weirdly worked with the “ROCK–2” rhythm preset. I had no clue what I was doing, but it felt great. That might’ve been my first groovebox moment.

These days, I’m back at it with a stack of portable gear. I’m into drum and bass, breakbeat, and seeing how far I can push these tiny machines:
